ICD Ultra2010 is the year of the tablet and while the spotlight has been on Apple’s iPad there is a bevy of new tablets hitting the market vying for a sweet piece of the tablet pie. Take the ICD Ultra for instance. Built on Adobe’s air technology running on top of Google Android this 7” touch screen tablet is mighty in its versatility and processing power.

Manufactured by ICD this compact powerhouse is loaded with features not found on the iPad.

A 1GHz Tegra T20 CPU pushes the device with 512 MB of RAM & 512 MB of ROM. It also has 4 GB of hardwired storage, a 4G Motorola modem, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1 a 1.3 megapixel camera, stereo microphones HDMI out, USB 2.0 and a Micro SD slot. There is an accelerometer and ambient light sensor and a 3.5 mm headphone jack!

The initial prototype runs Android 2.0 and rips through 1080P video like a knife through butter. It will run any android apps and has FLASH 10 support. It’s got a generous 1024x600 screen resolution and is under development for Verizon. Initial reviews are optimistic and ICD projects the device will sell in the $249.00 range which is a dramatic savings over an iPad.

When you add up the features with the power of Google’s Android OS you have a noteworthy addition to the tablet market, keep your eyes peeled for this one.

Google Might Be Buzzed

Ashton Kutcher, September 2008

Image via Wikipedia

Is anybody honestly excited with Google Buzz?  After rumors that Google was in negotiations to acquire Twitter it is obvious that the technology giant was unable to strike a deal.  Whats more interesting is watching Google roll out yet another social aggregator clogging up the social space.  Well thank you very much oh mighty Google but the service I have been using for the past two years works perfectly!  Perhaps you have heard of it, its called TWITTER.

I wonder if Ashton Kutcher plans on being the first with a million followers on Google Buzz? ;-)  My personal feeling is that Google Buzz will Buzz Out.  You have heard it said that if a tree falls in the woods and there is nobody there to hear it, then it didn't make a sound.  This is how I see Google Buzz fading into obscurity because nobody is paying attention.  Why? SIMPLE, We already have some very popular aggregators that serve their purpose, the other aforementioned service is called FACEBOOK, perhaps you have heard of it as well. Add a comment
